As Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Global Head of Legal (UK) with a matrix reporting into India Managing Director
• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements with clients, merchants, suppliers and any other party the Company may have agreements with.
• Advising on legal aspects of issues encountered by the Company.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations in addition to Group policies, including but not limited to, voucher related regulations, payment regulations, AML, anti-fraud, personal data protection and employment law in the operations of the Company.
• Managing litigation, consumer complaints and law or regulatory enforcement investigations.
• Implementing a comprehensive contract and litigation management system.
• Providing sound and timely legal advice to business units.
• Preparing and delivering training to internal stakeholders on key legal topics, policies and procedures.
• Developing and implementing processes to analyse and mitigate legal risk.
• Managing external counsel and Legal budget.
• Supporting the strategic direction of the Company and the Group Corporate Legal on projects and initiatives that may be allocated from time to time, including, but not limited to, M&A projects.

• With the introduction of new laws and regulations in an ever-changing legal landscape, you will be expected not only to keep abreast with such changes, but also advise internal stakeholders of the impact on the business in a timely manner.

• Collaboration with the peer managers and business partners, within India and Globally
• Bachelor's degree in Law
• 15+ years of post-qualification legal experience, either within a law firm and in-house.
• In-depth knowledge of the legal and business environment in India.
• Experience in Engagement, Payment and/or IT industry is preferred.
• Must have executive presence, composure, and strong influencing abilities.
• Self-starter, highly organized, and able to deliver clear, business-oriented legal advice in a simple form in a fast-paced atmosphere is required.
• Proven track record of excellent judgment, analytical ability, critical thinking, negotiating and risk management skills are required.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills (including verbal and written English), with a solid track record of building productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines.
• Experience in negotiation, dispute resolution, litigation and managing external counsels.
• High degree of integrity and professional accountability.
